The port of Famagusta based in the North, receives container shipments, and deliveries out to Kyrenia, Lapta and the North of the Island are serviced by our dedicated agents. Moving to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a little different to other parts of the world, and exclusive containers will most likely be cleared at the residence at the time of delivery. Used Household furniture and effects can be imported free of duty and without VAT, but note any new items will be subject to Duty.
Custom clearance
Most likely you will need to visit the capital Nicosia to assist with custom clearance prior to the arrival of your container, and our agent will complete the custom formalities with you in person
It is normal practice to deliver your consignment in the evening, so it’s worth making sure you have good lighting at your new property. Custom Duties on large electrical items are normally paid in cash at the time of delivery.
Transit Times
Groupage or shared consignments can take between 8 to 12 weeks dependant on volumes to be shipped and customs or immigration delays. Sole use containers 6 to 7 weeks. When moving to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus you must be in the country to complete all the custom formalities, and its worth doing your homework regarding prohibited and restricted items as this can delay your shipment and incur additional costs if found to be within your goods.
