It is common to have multiple televisions in most homes these days and the steps below should help you if you are moving house.

If you have retained the original packaging then this is the best way of protecting your TV as this is what has been specially designed to transport it. There are usually molded polystyrene blocks that fit the shape of the television and these should be used. Please note removal companies generally will not have the time to use these as it is time consuming.

It is a good idea to take a photograph of the rear of any televisions or to number the leads so that you have a record of what goes where when you need to set the television up in its new location. This is really important if you have several of them or are looking to put the televisions into storage for a short while.

A good tip is to pack all your leads and remote controls from all of your TV's into one box. Ensuring that they are bagged up first and you note on each bag which TV the leads and controls relate to. Removers call this an "odds box" and should be able to supply you with one.

Removal companies will typically use TV bags. These are large padded bags that also have a hardboard insert. Once the bags are open the television is simply placed in the middle of the empty bag with the front facing the side that has the hardboard within it. Once the bag is then zipped up it automatically brings the padded sides of the bag into contact with the television to protect it.
