A model of the former Hull tug The Salvageman, which saw service in the Falklands War, has been relocated to the Hull law firm Myton Law.

The 5ft long model was moved from The United Towing & Salvage Society (UTSS) to Riverside House on Victoria Pier waterfront by Appleyards of East Yorkshire on Wednesday the 8th of August.

The building is currently owned and operated by the maritime and shipping law firm Myton Law. This fitting link ensures that an important part of Hull’s maritime history remains known and celebrated.

Myton Law director John Habergham said, “Myton Law is very pleased to provide a home for The Salvageman, especially with our close links with the maritime and shipping industry through our legal work for clients in this sector.”

The Salvageman was built in Hong King and delivered to United Towing in 1980. At the time it was Britain’s most powerful tug, and was requisitioned by the Department of Trade in 1982 to be used in the Falklands. Through this it became the longest serving merchant ship.
