When the initial lock-down was announced many removal companies found themselves in a situation where they were forced by the government to close down almost immediately. All work booked in advance had to be postponed and there then followed around two months when not a wheel was turned for most removal firms.

During this time with many families being at home with time on their hands to plan their next life house moves, either up or down, the opening of the industry up again has seen a massive influx of work. Fuelled by the clients who have had to sit waiting patiently for months to get new removal dates and those described above.

Whilst the summer is normally a very busy period in the industry it normal begins to quieten down almost as soon as the children return to school. Currently this doesnt seem to be the case with many removal firms saying that they have work already booked through September, October and even into November.

Despite this current boom in the market the industry seems to be bracing itself for the expected downturn in the economy and the likely downwards spiral on the housing market but there are certainly no signs of this happening just yet.
