At the time of writing this article the deadline for completing on your house to avoid paying stamp duty is still the end of March. When the chancellor first announced this is sparked a massive spike in the housing market, a false bubble of activity that hasn't let up. There are calls for this date to either be extended or for those sufficiently down the move process to be allowed to take the benefit, even if completion falls into April.

What is clear currently when we look at the number of customers we have on our books who all want to move with us, is that if will be impossible to get them all booked into the diary in March, should all the completions come together.

It will be interesting to see how the moving process will keep in the final few weeks. One thing is for sure there will be a lot of anger about for those expecting to save thousands of pounds if their completion dates slip into the following month.

Months such as November, January and February are traditionally very quiet in the removals industry but these three months have been as busy as any summer holiday period with crews working six days a week to meet demand.
